Does anybody know where I can look to find the JimBob tail wheel and a tail wheel spring?

I found the following on the Q-list:
Sam Hoskins was considering a carbon rod tailspring and this was the response from Alan Thayer:
As far as the tailwheel is concerned, I'm not sure if I can help yet since I haven't gotten there on my plane yet. However, John Loram has some good info on his website:

The rods are now manufactured by Avia Sport, and are sold through Jim
Marske, whom i have met here in California. This material is now available
in many more sizes and shapes than were previously marketed, and he has
quite an album of pictures showing the stuff in use, most notably in

Speaking of tailsprings, in my quest for one last month, i wound up with
two, one not being used; it's of 1095 steel, 5/8 round, you'd have to have
it heat treated. Would like for it to have a new home. The other one, 6150
spring steel, went in great and looks like it's gonna work like a champ.
As far as the tailwheel is concerned, I'm not sure if I can help yet since I haven't gotten there on my plane yet. However, John Loram has some good info on his website:

Hi Dan,
Yep, it helped. I would prefer to use the glass tail spring....maybe carbon.
I found the tail wheel some of the Quickie guys have used at Aviation Products Inc. 805.646.6042. I got the dual fork for 255 bucks. Single fork is 235.

Hi Dan
In the UK we use G10 (solid glass fibre rod)5/8" wrapped it in bid at 45 degrees bias to get a diameter of about 1", cut off the standard tailwheel spring tube and weld on one with an inch inside diameter.
Carbon is no good in this application we had one builder use the glass rod plus carbon, which was too stiff and the carbon takes all the load till it breaks then the glass which is not strong enough on it's own so that breaks too.
I also use a pneumatic skateboard wheel and tyre, but the soft solid tyre is used by other with good success.
Hopefully you will get the attached photos? If not they are on the Q-list in the GOBXOY album.
