Sorry to be so long to reply. I thought the clear was somewhat easier, the plus is you can sand out any runs in the color before you shoot the clear. That said I will have someone with more experience paint it next time.

On my Quickies I used paint from PPG Aerospace. The easiest way to know what color to use is pick a color on Microsoft Paint that you like then convert it to a gray scale image. If the color shows as a light gray it is safe to use. The PPG Aerospace paints have a UV blocker in them which will also help. If you have never painted before Stewart Systems offers a waterborn system that is easy to work with and spray no special equipment needed. They do offer a DVD with the how to's to apply there system.

Clear over colo(u)r is a standard car painting technique to get a good shine without polishing. It's simple to do, either with a gun or pressure packs.
