Hour 47 - Trial Fits and Tribulations

{flv}construction/hour047{/flv}

In my last video I started removing foam in front of the canopy to prep the installation of the LAST-A foam from Aircraft Spruce.  I am using a combination of wire brushes, drill bits, and saws to remove the foam without damaging the top layer of glass.

I finished removing the old foam here, but some areas wer very difficult to remove, since I had previously tried to fill the void with wet micro.  Once that had dried, it was a BEAR to get back off.

After all that chipping and sawing, I had a lot of cleanup to do, so I took the vacuum to everything before trying to trial fit the LAST-A.  Unfortunately, I broke several pieces of this expensive foam before getting everything in place.  I guess you have to crack a few eggs. . . BUT SHEESH that was frustrating. Undecided

At any rate, I took some still photos of some of the work I've been doing, but my video camera is still being repaired.  So I'll try to keep some documentation going here of any progress I'm making with still photos, but the videos may be late in coming for a few weeks.

As always I invite your feedback below, or in the forums!
