This Survey was completed by 46 people. The results of the survey appear below.  I will publish my analysis of the results in the next issue of Q-talk (Issue #143) which will be e-mailed out to all QBA Members on October 31st, 2010.

Yes, but i would perfer the Q-talk or what ever its called now, to be all in one posting. I don't care for having to down load (if thats the correct way of putting it) it in sections. Can't find a simple way to print it off for filling now.

By the way Dan, you mention in your building section that you are having to remove a lot of "Bondo". Are you sure it is not "UltraLite plastic filler" or "Dynalite"? That is a product sold by Spruce & others, and are Bondo filled with Talcs and Microspheres. They are good light weight fillers, and they use the same harder as plane Bondo.

Good luck on your web site and your build. Chick

Would appreciate multiple button choices here, as indeed, i would like to see videos, archival articles and pictures, and even videos of live conversations or past forums that would be helpful on specific topics. Like Bob Nuckolls' talks in the past, (but then he probably wouldn't like that.... but you get my drift!) Would also like to see a featured builder per issue.. someone to interview, and have them describe their plane, with pictures, and what they have done that is unique or that works particularly well... even painting, or prepping, systems installation, etc. I think Dave Richardson did this a while back, or even Tom Moore, and it was terrific, getting to know someone through a featured interview with them, but then that idea stopped when the individual no longer did the newsletter... this could be incorporated into the website, with multimedia possibilities, and it could be a really nice way of featuring someone's plane or project.

1:16 PM
Forget the CAD versions. The first sale and they are alll over the internet for free.

I think the Onan manual is already in PDF format or down load on the net (think I have a copy, but not sure). Also the Onan is now only a "legacy motor" New units available now number less than 5. Parts are another problem. Not a viable power plant for new builders.

Pedal planes sound kind of neat - and might breed a whole new generation of tandem wing fliers. If you do the Q also offer a D'fly version.

Not much demand for metal parts prints except for the really cheap bulders. I considered redoing my CAD in 3D but decided it wasn't worth the effort. I have a stack of cut metal parts but just need the time to get the final detail work finished before putting them on the market. Not much point in trying to make your own if I can sell you already CNC cut parts for what a sheet of metal and freignt would cost ;-)

I guess I never understood that this site didn't connect to the yahoo group. I'm not sure what exactly how to use it. Because I am putting an alternative engine into my TriQ most of the info isn't relevant. I did research a little into W&B but the info I found was incomplete. I 'm sure I haven't got the utility out of it that is here. I do appreciate all the effort that goes into this site.

Thank you for your effort in keeping people interested in the Quickie design. They are becoming a vary rare aircraft here in Australia. I would like to build a Q1 with the newer LS1 canard and a more modern engine if I ever have the time. Tue, Oct 5, 2010 10:55 PM
How about scaling up the Quickie and Q2/Q200 to fit more people.

How about a Super Quickie that will fit a guy 6' 4" and 350lbs with a 582(65HP) or 618(75HP).

How about a pole on height, shoulder width, weight of members.

Can't think of any, I really like the whole idea of a quickie web site. Wish we had more how to's as I am a first time recent owner and want to completely restore my plane to a mint show room condition.

Really, you seem to be doing a pretty good job. What we need are a whole new group of builders turning out fresh flying Q's. That should build more interest and result in more new starts. Kind of a self-sustaining feed back loop. All we need is the chicken or the egg. I have every intention of providing the egg.....

Just to clarify the pricing stucture of the Newsletter in the past. The paper versions ended up being $2.00 more to cover postage ($22.00). The recent postage increases could have made that go higher. International paper subscriptions were even higher. Look on page 2 in the outlined box for futher details of issue 138.

Fri, Oct 1, 2010 6:04 AM
