Q-talk 94 - First Flight

Steve Ham Carmel, IN

After four years plus and 1,784,564 hours, it flies. At 9:40 am, I started a high speed taxi test and after a 700' plus roll, it leaped into the air. I climbed out at 800 fpm and stayed in the pattern. I had no problems except a loose radio ground. The lesson is, no matter how many times you get tired and it seems like the many hours of work aren't getting you anywhere...stay with it. There is no feeling like the first flight. Stay with it, it's worth it. That goes for you guys, Mike Hutton and Bud Starnes (fellow Hoosiers). 1 down 2 to go.
