TANDEM WING FLY-IN 2003

Friday, June 27th thru Sunday, June 29th

This is a warm invitation to attend the fourth annual tandem wing fly-in at Mattoon, Illinois. Friday. June 27 - Sunday. June 29. We really enjoyed seeing all of you at last year's event and would very much like to see you again this year. The airport manager.. Shannon Youakim. has graciously offered free hangar space for our airplanes as well as plenty of tie-dow ns, if w e should need them.

Coles County Airport (MTO) has two wide and long runways (29-11 and 24-06) and for those who fly the older ty pe of aircraft, ihere is a grass strip (36-18). Use right hand pattern for 11 and 6. This is a non-controlled field and Unicom is 122.7 and AWOS is broadcasted on the VOR 109.4.

The airport has a full sen ice FBO. Camping w ill be allowed on the grounds or a sleeping bag could be used inside the offices of the building w here our aircraft will be hangared. For those of you w ho would prefer to sleep in a real bed. a group of hotels is located one mile west of the airport on state highway 16 and 1 57.

Transportation will be provided to and from the hotels for those w ho fly in. Although the core of the event w ill be on Saturday, plan to fly or drive in on Friday afternoon for extra visiting time. There is a great lidle restaurant on the airport grounds w ith good food at reasonable prices. We w ill have dinner there Friday and Saturday nights along with a farewell breakfast on Sunday morning. This fly-in w ill be a casual and fun get-together for both Quickie and Dragonfly owners. Please make plans to come. It would be great to see you!
