good morning class ..........!
sorry `bout the shout message last night.

anyway if you look on the photo section of this group you will find
the photo site 2 x 1/2 vw engines ...........
i know you have seen this photo before , i only used it for an
example, a o k ?

i am a fiberglass mold maker and i think i could build a Q-1 fuselage
in the heavy duty mode that will use 2, 1/2 vw engines !
1 in the front and 1 in the rear, centerline style.

a new style Q-1 with 2 engines !
the 1/2 vw is the only way to go !
inexpensive and plentiful !
at 45 hp each and with the comfort of knowing tha you have a back-up
engine is mighty attractive, no..........yes !
look for diagrams and models on this 2 x engines soon !

i thank you....safe flying, and all that you know !

roger........
the fuselage would be a new design flat on the bottom no curve front to rear
but the wings would be in the same place, tri gear, & 1/2 vw engines.
i don`t know ?
it seems that everytime i look at one of these q-1-2 with the tail section
removed i start to think about the extra engine and a new style tail rudder,
like a gee bee ?

If you remove the tail put an engine there, and make another tail insead, and
leave the canard , wing, and forward engine where it is, and leave the rest of
the body, you have screwed up quite a bit already there.

The Q1 will not stall, but you can deep stall anything. Put a cow in the
tailcone and you will get one on take off. Your suggestion regarding that extra
engine, is your cow.

It's not going to work.

In your case, ****sounding like Dr Phil here**** I would suggest that you make
a model airplane instead, just a standard run of the mill model airplane, and
with that one figure out how the four main forces work,.....drag, lift, gravity
and thrust.

You probably have got the main idea about them , but you clearly don't have
the idea about the delicate balance betwen them, in order for flight to take
place.

Especially the two vectors that you have a hard time grasping, lift, and
gravity.

Find the balance point on your model aircraft, and tape on a bolt at that
point, it will still fly pretty good. Now tape that bolt onto the tail and toss
the model aircraft, and come back to us and tell us what it did.
