I put in a bigger engine, It will be ready for test flight in a few
weeks. Does anyone know if you need more rudder with larger engine? I
off set the engine by 3 degrees. I also have radiator mounted behind
the seat. I have a small scoop in the belly in front of the rad with
housing to direct air through the rad and I have a small reverse scoop
in tail section belly as well. I'm not sure of the positive and
negetive air preasure. any coment on this as well? Thanx Marvin

Hi Marvin,

What engine are you using?
How much horsepower?
What is your emptyweight?

The original rudder works fine for me with my 1835vw.

Thanx Ryan. I put a crotch rocket engine in. and my empty weight is
just under 500 lbs. I'm working on air circulation for cooling
radiator.I want to find dead air space and pressure points and
suction. I thought maybe on the tail section, top may be a good place
for air to exit. It looks to me as this is a lower preasure area. Any
comments. Thanx Marvin

Not a Quickie but this JPG of a Q-2 might give you some more ideas.

Thank you for the help, I posted some pictures of my Q1. I'll post
more once I have it complete and outside. The engine I installed is a
600 cc Suzuki crotch rocket engine. It is out of a brand new bike. It
has fuel injection and runs super smooth, only it is a little heavy.
My Q1 was heavy with the onan weighing 355 empty, after this engine
and prop drive, bigger prop and extended coolant lines, 2 gallons of
paint and 25 lb ballast. It is 496 lbs now. Marvin
