filled the bag with 2 part X30 foam. It comes out the same density as the

surefoam tool till you are happy with the shape. After that you can fill if
needed with what ever you want. I used drywall mud, the 45 minute kind,
using it you can build up heaver pieces. After that you can put whatever
kind of mold release you want under the bio or whatever cloth you are using.
Be sure to get the mold as close to perfect as you can, makes it much easier
in the long run.

All,
I heard several mention that they are using spackel to form things,
such as cowlings, etc. How does this work? Does fiberglass not stick
to it or do you need mold release. I've been covering foam (x30) with
bondo and sanding, with a plan to paint with mold release, spackel if
it works would save lots of work. Any info would be appreciated. Do
you need to use real spackel or is the other stuff ok (vinyl).
